Northeast Earthquake Disaster Appeal
A powerful earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale struck Northeast India during the early hours of 4 January 2016. While Tamenglong in Manipur was the epicentre, the impact was felt far and wide in the region impacting several cities as well as rural areas. People have lost lives, suffered injuries and been rendered homeless. Being a relatively remote region, it is all the more imperative for us to come together to support the affected communities.
According to report received by CAF India from implementing partners, the number of casualties and extent of damage could rise.
We are already working closely with NGO partners on the ground to assess the situation and prepare for an effective response strategy.
Please join us in helping those affected by this disaster. We have set up an online donation page to collect organisational and individual contributions. In addition, you can even send a DD/cheque in favour of ‘Charities Aid Foundation India’. The nature of support will be both immediate relief, as well as, long-term rehabilitation.
