CAF India hosts national conclave to build capacities of NGOs
Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India in partnership with United Parcel Service (UPS) Foundation organised a national conclave to mark the successful completion of the project titled ‘’Strengthening growth of not-for-profits through Inclusive Partnerships’, aimed at creating an enabling environment for building capacities of NGOs in the country.
Every year CAF brings out the World Giving Index, which is the world’s leading study on global generosity. The latest WGI report, which released globally on Nov 10, is based on surveys carried out in 145 countries throughout last year which asked people (aged 15 and over) whether they have donated money, volunteered time or helped a stranger in the past month. By measuring these three basic kinds of giving we get a simple, but universally understood, picture of generosity across the world.
After the successful global launch of the sixth edition of the World Giving Index 2015 on 10th of November, CAF India is committed to finding strategic solutions to improve the
giving culture in the country. Despite having the largest number of givers in the world, India dropped to 106th position in the global rankings from 69th spot a year ago, indicating a lot more needs to be done to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in our country.
