Rudina and her siblings were abandoned by their father, when he realized he could not fend for them. They live with their mother, who struggles to make ends meet. Every day, after her mother leaves for work at the break of dawn, Rudina and her siblings walk to their school -- Sakshi Centre – where a hot meal awaits them.
Parmeet is 11 years old and he has big dreams to become a Doctor. He lives with his father, mother and a younger brother who is yet to start his education.With his father’s meagre income, his family can barely afford two meals a day. The family lives in a single room with no sanitation facilities. Despite these challenges, Parmeet found his footing through non-formal education and meal programme at Sakshi Centre in Gurgaon, four years ago.

Deenabandhu decided to take him under its wings, give him a new home and the opportunity at a better future. Today, with support from Deenabandhu, Sunil is the main lead for a popular Kannada TV Series and one of the most celebrated TV stars in Karnataka!
THE AMAZING RESURGENCE OF THE WEAVERS VILLAGE OF KOYYALAGUDEM
The small weaving village of Koyyalagudem in Andhra Pradesh is known for its cotton ikats - a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles. However the use of highly toxic chemical dyes had led to ground water contamination causing serious health problems to the entire village of weavers, who were dying a slow death. With support from Chaitanya Bharathi, the community has adopted natural dyeing resources to replace toxic chemical dyes, helping transform the lives and the future of this tiny weaving community.
Intellectually challenged, Thomas had delayed milestones early on in his childhood and was later diagnosed as mentally retarded with 75 % level disability. He was unruly, threw frequent tantrums and was unable to speak or respond to instructions. With help from GAYE partner NGO Balajyothi, Thomas has shown remarkable improvement through therapy and counseling.
