The early childhood period covers the period of conception in the mother’s womb to about six years of the child. In this portfolio we are primarily focusing on developing socio-emotional, cognitive and motor skills of the children. At the same time, we are also emphasizing on encouraging responsive care-giving practices for early stimulation of children.

Building Lives at Building Sites

The project titled “Building Lives at Building Sites” is an Early Childhood Development program which addresses the nutritional and educational needs of the children of construction workers through mobile crèches.

    5 states (Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana)

    500 children from birth to 12 years.

    Year 2023 – Year 2024 (continuing from Year 2022 on a renewal basis)

Strengthening Responsive care-giving practices for children

Saishaba – A parent-led home-based early stimulation programme

The project is in collaboration with Department of WCD, Government of Odisha to foster responsive parenting and care-giving practices among parents, care-givers and other service providers to enable holistic development of children between ages 0-3 years. Saishaba is a programme of the Government of Odisha. CAF India will be supporting the government on identifying and then implementing the responsive care-giving and parenting practices for early stimulation for children. The project will be done in a formative research mode in 3 districts and post the analysis of its findings and concurrent re-adjustments, the implementation of the programme will be done in all 28 districts of Odisha.
